The Voice of Despair

I heard a voice full of despair “come get me”

I whispered I’ll be there

As the flight took me to a place I didn’t know where

I heard the voice “come get me”

I whispered I’m almost there

As I came upon the place the voice had led me

Only the shadow I could see

I fell in despair

The voice was not there

I still whispered I’m here

I was too late.
